Readers, I will be in Washington for my first ALI annual meeting. For those abroad, the ALI is an independent body that publishes material meant to clarify and modernize the law. The Restatements of the Law, for example, are promulgated by the ALI.
I will not be “reporting from” the meeting, because I don’t think it is a public meeting. I made that mistake once, at the 2014 Hague Conference Special Commission meeting I will, however, be paying especially close attention to drafts the ALI will be considering in the fields of international arbitration, data privacy, and intentional torts to persons, among others. And if I learn interesting new stuff you may be reading about it!
