Thanks Melissa for noting this. I'm sure you have seen the UK case Re PT 2020 EWHC 834 (Fam) March 31, 2020 where the English judge sent the child back to Spain despite corona virus, saying it was not clear Spain was much worse than England and that there were still international flights despite the risk of travel. It may be that the wrongful removal was particularly egregious on the facts there and/or the abducting mother was not represented by counsel. The judge was concerned about a long delay if he didn't order return now.
I agree that these present interesting issues.
Best,
Linda

Ted, I know Melissa Kucinski, as she is a colleague. Not only is she a wonderful attorney, she is as experienced and well-versed as anybody I have seen. In other words , she is a “lawyer’s lawyer.” I believe that you both hit a home run with having each other write and share blogs.

Now, regarding the case, I believe that the Judge should have reached out to the Mexican Hague Judge and discuss it with that Judge, instead of making a unilateral decision. As you well know, my areas of practice also focus in international matters, cross-border litigation, including Hague abduction matters in Mexico.
