This page collects information about my Freedom of Information Act case against the US Department of State.

The FOIA Documents

Here is an archive of the FOIA documents, in .tar.gz format. The file is 841 MB. Note that I have not included the documents from the last two productions, which were photocopies of pleadings and other documents relating to the Chevron litigation that are publicly available on PACER.

The Vaughn Index

Here is the Vaughn index, which gives the government’s reason for withholding certain documents and portions of documents.

Here are the main substantive posts about the public records obtained from the Department.

Pleadings and Other Papers Filed In Court

I’ve reprinted (with some editorial modifications) the docket from the case, Folkman v. US Department of State, Civ. A. No. 1:13-cv-10614-RWZ, which was heard in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. You can also obtain the docket from the Court’s PACER website.
